ENCHANTMENT
Dear Readers,
Welcome to the fourth issue of Arrival Magazine. Thank you so much for joining us. We’re so glad you’re here!
With this issue, we present Enchantment—a theme that captures the awe and wonder we’re carrying into 2026. As writers, we feel a sense of enchantment as we type on the keyboard or put pen to paper. We feel it as we create characters, draft our stories, and weave our souls into poetry. Every person who proudly declares to the world that they are a writer will always be our inspiration, and we hope to have built a space magical enough to house the words of Canada’s rising stars.
We’re well into the life of this magazine, and with members of our leadership team approaching graduation, we’re proud to say we’ve been charmed by what we’ve accomplished. We’ve tapped into the essence of the writer, holding on to the memories that inspired us to pick up the pen. Our editors and creative team stayed nimble, adapting on the fly to create an issue that we are proud of. We’ve welcomed some amazing new members to the team, and we know that their dedication and unique skills will carry the Arrival legacy far.
The pieces in this issue explore enchantment in the context of almighty destiny, butterfly-inducing crushes, our favourite knick-knack collections, and more. Poetically navigating exhilarating highs and lows, these skilled writers capture the resilience and wonder we aim to celebrate with this issue.
In this issue, you’ll find an interview with Anuja Varghese, author of the award-winning short story collection Chrysalis, and the newly released romantasy novel A Kiss of Crimson Ash. Varghese’s work embodies our view of enchantment, as her gripping tales expertly intertwine the mystical with the modern.
Finally, thank you to our amazing team and community! This issue would not have been possible without the effort and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Here’s to a magical new year!
Sincerely,
The Arrival Editorial Collective
